Crew

I am an enthusiastic explorer who has a strong passion for learning and experiencing new things. Sports such as biking, paddleboarding, skiing, hiking, and sailing are some of my favorite activities. Music holds a special place in my heart, and currently, I'm involved in two bands where I enjoy playing the drums, which I like to think of as the engine of the group. Apart from that, I have a keen interest in photography, cooking, and mechanics. Traveling is one of my greatest joys in life (let's be honest, who doesn't love it?). Thankfully, my lovely wife is understanding and doesn't mind me spending time out on the boat. We are proud parents of two incredible daughters who are now in their 20s. Originally from Chile, I have been living in the USA for the past 23 years. It all started when I came to Boston University for an MBA, and since then, I have had the opportunity to work in the corporate sector for 13 years. Following that, I took on the responsibility of managing our family businesses in Chile and Peru, all while being fortunate enough to call Miami my home. If there's one motto I live by, it would be "Don't worry, nothing is under control."

For our 25th wedding anniversary, we wanted something special, and our two-day sailing adventure with Rodrigo was the perfect choice. My wife and I both had experience sailing on lakes, but ocean sailing was a whole new level for us, and it exceeded our expectations. Rodrigo was a fantastic host—easy to talk to and constantly engaging. By the end of the first four hours, it felt more like he was a friend.
He encouraged us to be as involved in the sailing as we wanted, whether it was steering the boat or handling the ropes. For those who have never sailed, you might be surprised by how sailing can be both exhilarating and relaxing simultaneously.
And let's not forget the meals! Rodrigo is an excellent cook, and dining on the ocean was a unique experience. Dinner was especially nice, watching the sunset and Rodrigo grilling steaks at the back of the boat. All of the meals were unforgettable moments.
Whether you're an experienced sailor or a newbie, I believe you will thoroughly enjoy sailing, especially with Rodrigo as your host.

We had a lovely time sailing with Captain Rodrigo! He was great and made our first boating experience with our 1 year old memorable and easy going. Based on his suggestion, we moved our sailing time to enjoy the sunset and it was a great call. It was a perfect way to celebrate my husband’s first Father’s Day. Highly recommend!

Captain Rod is a very competent and personable captain. Very easy to work with. If you know how to sail, he is all for it. Boat is very comfortable for 4 in addition to the captain. The boat is on the older side but very well maintained and comfortable. No hesitation in recommending Captain Rod and his boat. T. Green

Wonderful sunset cruise around Biscayne Bay, taking in Stiltsville, Cape Florida and Key Biscayne! Capts Rod and Steve were welcoming and excellent hosts ensuring all those onboard were having a good time (even for the non-sailors). Communication was clear and concise about pickup point, times and what to expect (including some detailed weather updates on the day) . We departed the dock as planned and returned exactly at the time agreed. the younger kids onboard (and all) were given a safety chat about some boat rules like not going up on deck before asking in case we were about to tack :) Happy to say that this was delivered in a friendly and non-threatening way - which I've experienced on other boats with more grumpy Captains!
The overall quality of the boat was exemplary, nice and clean and tidy (including below deck and the head). Rod is an amazing chef and provided a fantastic spread of charcuterie and snacks along the way. He's also a great photographer and as an extra surprise sent us his pictures shortly after the trip!
Both Steve and Rod are enthusiastic and proud hosts in Miami, and obviously passionate about the local environment, never missing an opportunity to talk about the Bay in general with it's rich history (natural and political). Will definitely be back for more when the next band of tourists / guests come to visit! :) Thanks capts Rod and Steve! Hope to see you on the water again soon.

Rodrigo and Steven made the trip fun, lighthearted, easy, and gave us an extra surprise of some great photos at the end. I would highly recommend them for their general knowledge of the area including local history and the coves and the ocean floor, the boat was in great order, and especially how they interacted easily and capably with all of us passengers. It was an amazing trip and I will do it again when I get the chance.

Rodrigo is a wonderful host. Punctual, very friendly and respectful, very patient, helpful and flexible with all the idiosyncrasies of our 3-generation group :) It was absolutely the first time experience for us and we felt very safe and confident with Rodrigo. Thank you!

I have sailed the coast of Chile, the Bahamas, the Florida Keys, Dry Tortuga and from Key West to Isla Mujeres in Mexico.
