We had a great time on St. John's with our captain Oliver and his 24 foot open fisherman style boat, complete with T-top for some shade. He asked us what we wanted to do and we told him we had 4 hours and wanted to go snorkeling ( we had brought our snorkeling gear with us) and to lunch by boat.
...He took us to 3 great snorkeling spots- none of which would have been accessible by land in that period of time- and a great restaurant.
Nothing like going with a local who knows the waters well, and handles the boat like he's been boating there for 10 years (he has). Oliver dropped us off right at our dock to return to our cruise ship right on time, but I would have rather stayed!
