What type of yacht should I charter?


No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. 

Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask at concierge@sailo.com! If you tell us what you want, we will tell you exactly what you need!

What should I do if there is damage to the boat, or an accident?


If there is a serious accident while out on the water, please alert the US Coast Guard +1 (800) 323-7233 immediately, or hail them on VHF 16.

For more minor incidents/damages, please make a note of it on the Check-In/Check-Out Survey, and contact the owner as soon as possible. We can be reached at concierge@sailo.com if you have any questions and concerns.

How long is a typical rental period?

How long is a typical rental period?


Typical rental period is defined by the amount of time you would spend out on the water and it may vary from a quarter day rental (2 hours), to half-day rental (4 hours), to full-day rental (8 hours) and to Multi-Day Rentals (more than 24 hours). My friend booked a qualifying boat and I received the Boating credits. How do I use them?


When you share your referral code or link with a friend, you will receive the Boating credits after he/she completes a Qualifying Boat Rental. You will have the option to use your Boating credits toward any future boat rental over $500. If you choose to use your Boating credits, the total amount of credits will be deducted from the boat rental price. If the boat rental price is lower than the boat rental price, the remaining Boating credits will remain in your account and can be used for a future boat rental. If you are unable to apply your Boating credits for a booking, please reach out to us at concierge@sailo.com or contact us live on chat.

Insurance Policy

Insurance Policy


The Owner is required to maintain and keep the proof of insurance (‘Proof of Insurance’) on board at all times. In the event of an accident, Sailo may also require that Owners be able to access their insurance policy information electronically and email a copy of the information to other parties involved. Moreover, the Sailo Insurance Policy, available through Sailo, shall cover damage and liabilities in the amount stated by the Boat Owner or the actual paid cash value, whichever is the lesser. Third party liability provided by Sailo shall not exceed $1,000,000 combined single limit. Medical payments are not covered. To report a claim the Owner should contact concierge@sailo.com within 18 hours of the incident.
