How To Search and Book A Boat
It’s that time of year. The weather is warm again, the days are longer, and the sea is calling our names. After a busy, hectic work week, we all need something to look forward to, something to help us unwind...like a leisurely New York sunset cruise or an exhilarating motorboat The Hamptons sunset cruise. Lucky for you, Sailo is here to rejuvenate your soul, helping you search and book a boat to rent in minutes.
There are 4 easy steps:
1. Search
Hop on to Sailo’s integrated boat rentals service platform, featuring thousands of boats. We categorize our boats into four types: Sail, Power, Catamaran, and Mega. New to boating and have no idea what the differences are between these types? Well, fear not, here’s the quick rundown:
Sailboats (monohulls): Propelled partially or entirely by the wind. A traditional sailboat is a monohull, meaning that there is one main body of the boat (bottom, sides, and deck).
Catamarans: Has two hulls centered with a sail. Catamarans, because of their two hull design, tend to be more spacious above and below the deck, in addition to providing a more stable, level ride compared to a sailboat that will have a greater heel (that’s sailing jargon for tilt).
Motor boats: As you might have guessed, they are powered by an engine. There are many different kinds: cruisers, pontoons, center consoles...your choice will depend on the type of activities you want to do whether it be wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing, fishing, or cruising. By reading the boat’s description you can get a good idea of what options are available.
Party boats: Boats we classify as large yachts with capacity over 13 guests. As the name of the category says, these boats are perfect for big events or parties with large amounts of people.
2. Filter & Compare
While searching our platform, you can filter by manufacturer, model, price, and location. Price will often depend on several factors including the manufacturer of the boat.
High End Manufacturers: Wally, Swan, Oyster, Chris Craft, Hinckley, Azimut, Sunseeker.
Midrange Manufacturers: Beneteau, Jeanneau, Tiara, Bertram, Viking, Hatteras.
Production Boats: Hunter, Catalina, Sea Ray, Sea Doo, Edgewater, Bayliner, Chaparral, Regal.
You can scale your search to boats within your price range by sliding the price scale left or right.
Entering in your number of guests is also very important when looking for a boat due to US Coast Guard regulations and the number of life jackets needed on board.
Not an experienced sailor or boater? Not a problem. Filter by captained boats. Looking for specific activities such as snorkeling, fishing, tubing, or watching the sunset? Check out the boat’s description or message the boat owner directly to see what’s possible. You can also contact us too at concierge@sail.com or pick up the phone and give us a ring with any questions or special requests you might have.
3. Book
Once you find a boat that fits your needs, enter in the dates of your trip to check it’s availability. Pick a captain if necessary, enter in your payment information, click book, and you’re done! We will handle the rest. Easy, right? Let's rent a boat in NY or hire a boat in Miami, Florida.
4. Enjoy
The only other thing left to do is to kick back, relax, and enjoy the sunshine, take in the view, and feel the wind through your hair.
